Leinster Final Success

What a wonderful day we had in the Wexford Opera House last Sunday (10th March). Our club was represented by our Céilí Dancers and our Léiriú.

We've had a number of close calls over the past few years, but, bridging a gap of 31 years, our Léiriú captured that elusive Leinster title. It was en emotional day for many Milltown people who also saw Milltown dancers grace the Leinster stage after a long gap.

The very best of luck to our thespians in the All Ireland final on Saturday 13th April in Castlebar. Incidentally, they will be joined by fellow parishioners, Allenwood, who will represent Kildare in Quiz Time. A remarkable achievement for the parish.

Milltown Muckers Fun Run / New Pitch Launch
Absolutely fantastic day on Saturday 9th Feb.
A massive thank you to all helpers and committee members and especially our 20 Captains who cajoled, begged and threatened 214 adults out into the muck and mayhem.
A lot of people gave time, but a special mention to Barney, Gavin and Eugene who contributed the time, but also machines, diesel and materials.

Its incredible that such a small community could generate over €21,000 from an event like this. The money that was raised was incredible and was a testament to your generosity.
However, the money wasn't even the greatest achievement on the day....that honour goes to the memories, the sense of community spirit and fun had by all.

It was a great day, and it was a day that our children will talk about, when their children are running around the new pitch.

Thank you again,
The Development Committee
Annual Dinner Dance
Don’t forget our Dinner Dance and Presentation night is February 16th. Limited number of tickets still available from Róisín Malone.

Adh mór Danny O Sullivan, Thomas Hamilton, Peter Hamilton and Hugh Hamilton.

The Kildare Nationalist had a wonderful write up on Scór in Kildare in their 29th January 2019 edition.

Recycling

We have 3 recycling ventures going on at present in the club. We have a new clothes recycling bin at the clubhouse for you to recycle all unwanted unused clothes, towels, sheets, blankets, curtains, shoes and belts.
We are also recycling old mobile phones and tablets, we have a collection box at the clubhouse.

By supporting these recycling ventures you are also helping our environment while turning these unused items into cash for the club.
Boots recycling. Bring along your old football boots (cleaned please) and donate to the club. If you need a pair of boots please take from the box instead of buying new.

Please support our club and help our community by reducing our carbon footprint!

"Friends of Milltown GAA":
Dear Members & Supporters,

As you may have heard Milltown G.F.C. is in the process of developing new grounds for club and school use.

This is a very big undertaking and is a huge financial commitment for the club and the community. To aid us in this great development, we will start a “Friends of Milltown GAA” group, and will hope to work with this group over the course of the next few years to see this project through to fruition.

The “Friends of Milltown GAA” group will be the core supporters of the project going forward, will receive regular updates from the committees, and will be a key part of the success of the development.

We are approaching you now with a request to join “Friends of Milltown GAA”, and to contribute to this wonderful cause. All are welcome to join, and our committee members will be talking to you over the next few days or week to discuss a contribution to join “Friends of Milltown GAA”.

If for some reason you are not approached, but wish to join “Friends of Milltown GAA”, please contact one of the committee members below. We would really appreciate your support, and we would love to have you involved in this great community project.

Once again we thank you profoundly for the continued backing you give this club and this community.

Yours Sincerely,
