2018 started with Scór Sinsear, and a continuation of strong participation from Milltown. We had participants in Solo Singing (Paul Delahunty), Recitation (Noel Shannon), Quiz Time and 2 Léiriús. Paul & Noel were unlucky to be beaten into 2nd place in their respective disciplines. While one Milltown team beat the other Milltown team in an epic Léiriú duel to claim the crown. However, the moment of the night has to go to our Quiz Team, who beat the all conquering Allenwood team by the smallest of margins. Allenwood were ahead by 2 points going into the final round, and all seemed lost. However, with a finish worthy of Hollywood, Milltown pipped them at the post to win by 1. It meant that our quiz team went straight to an All Ireland final for the first time in many a long year. A huge achievement.
Our success in the Léiriú along with our two 2nd places meant Milltown also won Club of the Year for the 2nd year running.
Our Léiriú, led by script writer Anne Field, made it safely through the Leinster Semis to the Leinster Final in the beautiful Helix, Dublin. Unfortunately, they came up just short in the end, but absolutely did club and county proud. We look forward to seeing what Ann cooks up for next year. If it's half as funny as 2018, it'll be a riot!
In the All Ireland Final (yes, you read that correctly!!), our Quiz Team didn't have luck on their side, finishing just inside the top half of the table. A very solid performance though, with the winning team missing only 2 or 3 questions in the whole quiz the standard was sky high. What an achievement to get to an All Ireland though.
All in all, not a bad showing.

November 2018 saw the return of Scór na nÓg. Once again, the huge wealth of talent in the village was on show. Tia Donovan and Róise Carroll both sang beautifully in the Solo Sining competition. As usual, competition was fierce, but Róise took the title, winning Solo Singing for the first time (in Scór na nÓg) for Milltown. We also had 2 Céilí Dancing teams, who were superb, but were unfortunately beaten into 2nd place by Maynooth. Our Trad group played beautifully and improved greatly since last year, but once again were out of luck. Our Léiriú was pipped by an impressive piece from Ardclough. However we had more luck in the Quiz, where we had 2 teams. And, following on the example of their Senior clubmates, won the county title by pipping Allenwood.
Róise represented Kildare in the Leinster Semi Final, but was unlucky not to get through. She has immense talent for someone so young, and I've no doubt we'll see lots more of her into the future.

On the 16th February (2019), for the first time in many, many years, our Quiz Team 1 (Thomas, Danny, Peter and Hugh) competed for the Scór na nÓg All Ireland title in Castlebar. Competition was very strong on the day, and the lads certainly did themselves, Milltown and Kildare proud with a mid-table finish.

2 All Ireland finals in 1 year. Not too shabby :)
